Discover techniques to describe the designs you dream. Come and
find inspiration to reinvigorate your design skills. Several
conceptual contexts, including green design, will be examined for
their potential to create more coherent designs. Emphasis will be
placed on verbal skills for visual thinkers and the use of a design
concept as a decision tool. The lively interactive format assures
participants will have an opportunity to practice the techniques
and to learn from other's results as well.

Come ready to sketch in this refresher course on all that you love
about design. Participants will take a single program and create
and evaluate three distinct design concepts. Subsequent design
iterations will replicate the delicate dance of design from concept
to building. This seminar will feature small group interaction with
tangible design results. (Prior attendance at Creating
Architectural Concepts is ideal.)

award recipients and each recipient will comment on relevant
challenges and issues of their projects.

Two small lamps in the Old North Church provided sufficient light
to spread the word in Paul Revere's day. Today's small-project
practitioner faces more challenges in communicating to the average
citizen news of the architect's essential role in the health,
safety, and welfare of society. We'll demystify engaging in media
relations and give the small-project practitioner access to the
basic media relation tools needed to garner increased public
visibility.
