2030 Coalition
As important as architects are to the design of the built environment, the profession is only one element of an industry that accounts for a major part of the United States’ annual GDP. The industry’s ability to inform policymakers about how to achieve sustainability and to provide resources and tools to the industry is magnified many times over by speaking with one voice.

A national coalition, The Coalition for a Sustainable Built Environment, of some 30 organizations representing various sectors of the built environment has been organized under the AIA’s leadership. A smaller group has signed on to principles consistent with AIA policy to achieve carbon neutral buildings by 2030.
