AIA Wisconsin hosted the 28th annual AIA State
Government Network meeting in Madison. Over 100 AIA leaders from 43 states
gathered in mid-July to share information and compare strategies on emerging
state legislative issue trending across the country. The presentations and
interactive sessions focused on attacks on professional licensure, building
code rollbacks, threats to the qualifications-based selection of architects and
tools architects can use to build better communities. AIA Wisconsin members led
tours of the State Capitol and UW-Madison campus. Wisconsin State
Representative Chris Taylor welcomed attendees to Madison at an opening
reception at the historic Stoner House.
