AIA Utah if moving to 280 s 400 w in salt lake city

As we get ready to move to the Historic Ford Motor Services Building, at the corner of 280 S 400 W in Downtown, we owe thanks to the teams and members who have stepped up on this fast-moving project. Noorda BEC provided - at reduced cost - the scan of our space that allowed us to get right to work; Blalock and Partners and Entelen Design Build have been pushing us through our very aggressive project timeline.

We can now also announce that several of our firms have stepped forward to support the success of the project and its first-ever partnering with the University of Utah College of Architecture and Planning (CA+P):

VCBO - $15,000 Board Room Naming Rights

MHTN - $10,000 CA+P Studio Naming Rights

CCG / HAWORTH - $20,000 (product donation / in-kind) "Showroom" Naming Rights

Alder Sales Corporation - $5000 Corporate Donation

Robert Pinon, AIA - $1000 Personal Donation

RK Stewart, FAIA - $1000 Personal Donation

Keith Diaz Moore, AIA - $1000 Personal Donation

James Williams, AIA - $1000 Personal Donation

AND NOW, YOU CAN BE A PART OF THE BUILDING!

Donations of any denomination are going to be acknowledged - either in print in REFLEXION magazine, here on our website, or in the PUNCHLIST.

This new AIA Utah space is envisioned as a gathering space, a program space, a space for conversation; but mostly, it is to be a MEMBER space, owned by the members, used by the members, and enjoyed by all.

Not only a ground-breaking partnership between the CA+P and AIA Utah, this collaboration includes the Utah chapter of the ASLA, and our own non-profit sister organization, The Utah Center for Architecture (UCFA).

We are excited to be launching this 21-st century office concept that will be the first of its kind in AIA. We have enjoyed great support so far. To secure the future success of this collaborative effort, we are asking that members consider contributing to help make the space the 21st century example of what great design can accomplish in a collaborative atmosphere.

Sustaining contributors who join this effort will receive:

$5000 level

5 tickets to the grand opening event

recognition wall placement in the new facility for the duration of our 10 year lease

Use of the VCBO Boardroom once / year for any event or presentation

$10,000 level

10 tickets to the grand opening event

recognition wall placement in the new facility for the duration of our 10 year lease

Use of the VCBO Boardroom once / year for any event or presentation

Use of the CCG /HAWORTH Showroom once / year for any event / presentation

Many thanks to the Facilities Task force Volunteers who have dedicated great time and effort to this process. Members with any questions are free to call the AIA Utah office: 801-532-1727, or email: hwilson@aiautah.org.
