AIA EOC Offers LU Program on Existing Buildings

AIA Eastern Ohio will present "How to Score with Alternative Compliance Methods" for chapter members on November 7th, 2018 at the Double Tree Hotel on Federal Plaza in downtown Youngstown.  The hotel, an example of adaptive reuse and the provisions of Chapter 34 - Alternative Compliance, is located at 44 E. Federal Street, Youngstown.  

The two (2) hour program is being coordinated with Terry Welker, FAIA, Chief Building Official for the City of Kettering, OH.  Terry is actively engaged in the AIA and will serve the Ohio Valley Region as their representative to the AIA National Strategic Council beginning in 2019.  Continuing Education LU/HSW are pending for the program.

The presentation of the updated Chapter 34 material will be supplemented with a one (1) program that will include a case study of the project and a tour of the facility.  The case study presentation will begin at 5:00 pm and the Chapter 34 program will start at 6:30.  Please contact Marlene Mort at the chapter offices for more information.
