2017 AIA Kentucky Scholarship Awarded
The 2017 AIA Kentucky Scholarship (supported by matching grant funds from AIA National) was presented to Ari Sogin. Ari shares his background below:
“I'm honored to have been selected of the Kentucky Society of Architects AIA Scholarship. This award means so much to be recognized by one of the highest bodes of the Architecture profession both in the state of Kentucky and nationally.
I was raised in Lexington, Kentucky and received my BA in Architecture from the University of Kentucky in 2015. Professionally, I have worked at Morphosis Architects (Los Angeles, CA) and most recently as a Project Manager and Designer for Architecture in Formation (New York, NY). In 2017, I returned to Kentucky to pursue my Masters of Architecture at the University of Kentucky. I have always had a strong dedication to taking opportunities that are ambitious and innovative. I hope to take these experiences back to my home state of Kentucky. Through these experiences I learned that through design training and thinking, architects can be a wonderful catalyst for creating change in our communities. After completing my Masters, I hope to become licensed in Kentucky, New York and California.”
