WFISD CEC Entry Chandelier

Each quarter, the Executive Board gets together to look at projects submitted by local, AIA-member firms. From those submissions, a project is selected which best highlights the values of AIA and the profession. Past highlighted projects have come from Harper Perkins Architects, Bundy Young Sims & Potter, and SLA Architects.

The Wichita Falls ISD Career Education Center, a joint project with Corgan Associates and Gary Baker Architects, was designed in the summer and fall of 2015. Construction began in May 2016 and the facility opened to students in August of 2017. It represents the largest CTE campus in the Region and is comprised of over 120,000 SF of specialized learning spaces to incorporate flexible learning environments for cosmetology, auto trades, architecture / engineering / construction, culinary, multi-media, and more. Students from all three Wichita Falls high school campuses utilize the CEC facility in a collective learning system that allows students to graduate from high school with professional-level certifications and endorsements that will better empower them to enter the workforce as productive employees.
