Event Recap: Annual Golf Outing
Annual Golf Outing Scholarship Recap 2019:
Golfers enjoyed a picture-perfect weather day for the Chapter’s 32nd annual golf outing at Bloomingdale Golf Club in Bloomingdale! With all proceeds benefiting the Chapter’s scholarship program for local architectural students, members and supporters mingled on the course and into the evening over dinner and award presentations for the longest putt, longest drive, closest to the pin and the winning foursome. This year the scholarship recipients are Serena Brewer a Master of Architecture Student at the University of Michigan and Amanda Louise a Master of Architecture student at Washington University in St. Louis. Congratulations to both!
The contests throughout the course kept the play light and friendly with hole challenges such as “beat the engineer” and “beat the rep”, with all donations benefiting the Chapter’s scholarship fund. With sponsors sprinkled throughout the course, it was a great opportunity for one on one time with our members and a welcome break in the pace of play for golfers. Several golfers approved of the margarita station on the back nine, that offered margaritas in exchange for a donation to the scholarship fund.
At the end of the day, a great time was had by all. All sponsorship opportunities were sold out, the weather was absolutely amazing and our local architectural community came together to raise funds for a worthy cause.
AIA NEI Notes: Thank you to all our sponsors, golfers, friends and everyone else that pitched in. Without your help and support we wouldn't be able to fund these scholarships every year. We look forward to next year and hope you consider joining us again in 2020.
