AIAW Now On-Demand Learning Portal

With the Wisconsin Safer-at-Home order putting the kibosh to the in-person Conference in April 2020, the Conference committee quickly began curating recorded seminars and case studies to offer in a new on-demand portal, AIAW NOW. Members will be able to watch short videos and earn credit.

We could use some help. Members still need continuing education credits and we all can learn from each other.

Vendors, Researchers and  Experts are encouraged to submit proposals for informative articles, 15-, 30- and/or 60-minute AIA/CES seminar presentations. These professional development seminars represent a continuing education opportunity as part of the AIA Wisconsin Virtual Conference program. By providing a program you allow the Conference Planning Committee the opportunity to provide a robust and balanced program.

Vendors, Researchers and  Experts are encouraged to submit proposals for informative articles, 15-, 30- and/or 60-minute AIA/CES seminar presentations.

Yes, we're talking to you. Please consider providing a program or article.

Here's how  the presentations work:

Present a 15-, 30- or 60-minute informative PowerPoint (with audio) highlighting an area of interest like best practices or knowledge topics (sustainability, water use, historic preservation, new technology for hospital design, lab requirements and solutions, REVIT quick tips, etc.).

We've identified an online learning platform to host prerecorded, on-demand seminars and manage participation.

It’s fairly easy to make an audio PowerPoint (Instructions). And AIAW staff will take care of a lot of the stuff before and after the informative “guts” of the seminar.

Here’s the format:

  1. AIAW opening slide (Designed by AIAW and inserted after we receive your recording)
  2. Session Title Slide (Designed by AIAW and inserted after we receive your recording)
  3. Presenter info slide (Designed by AIAW and inserted after we receive your recording)
  4. AIA Continuing education required slides (Designed by AIAW and inserted after we receive your recording)
  5. 15, 30 or 60 minutes of content (usually produced in PowerPoint with audio recording)
  6. End with a slide containing “for more information” (Business card info)
  7. Instruction info for attendee to take a short quiz to earn CES credit (Designed by AIAW and inserted after we receive your recording)

Here's how  the articles work:

Provide an  informative article highlighting an area of interest like best practices or knowledge topics (sustainability, water use, historic preservation, new technology for hospital design, lab requirements and solutions, REVIT quick tips, etc.). Share a Microsoft Word document with us. Please make sure this is your original content; content cannot be picked up from another publication without written permission.

We will need the following bits of information. We're collecting it in an online survey.

  1. Program Title
  2. One Sentence Description of presentation content (bonus points for seminars offering HSW content)
  3. Speaker name, title, company and head shot.
  4. A recording of informative content (Audio can be recorded through PowerPoint and shared through Google Drive or Hightail) Please follow guidelines of AIA/CES including non-product specific, technical information and remove corporate logos from all slides but the 1st and last.
  5. Four quiz questions (minimum), based on content (multiple choice); Indicate correct answer with reasoning and or tidbit to reinforce the learning.

For example: What is the Wisconsin State Bird?

a. Robin - The robin (Turdus migratorius) became the official state bird of Wisconsin on June 4, 1949

a.  Flamingo

c. Penguin

d. Chickadee

Thank you, in advance, for your support of this new opportunity; please direct questions to Brenda@aiaw.org.
