2017 Fall Workshop: What's Next in Career Paths

Overview

AIA Wisconsin

The 2017 Fall Workshop is designed to help you develop an action plan for the future of your professional and business career. The five-part interactive full-day workshop will address how firms and architects must continue to evolve in response to our most challenging practice management issues.

Changing demographics are dramatically affecting our profession:

  • Baby boomers are retiring at an unprecedented rate, elevating succession planning to a crucial strategic objective.
  • GenX’ers are being called upon to assume increasing levels of leadership, making the development of the next generation of leaders vital to ongoing firm success.
  • In 2016, Millennials became the largest professional demographic, ushering in new challenges to how firms approach attracting and retaining talent.

Responding to the aspirations and demands of each generation is daunting. Perhaps the greatest challenge is integrating the diverse interests, perspectives, needs and desires of all practicing generations into cohesive and unified practice management strategies.

What’s Next – Practice Challenges, Insights & ResourcesThis year’s Fall Workshop theme of professional and firm development will be explored within the contexts of constantly evolving business models and individual career paths. Workshop participants will be called upon to relate your personal experiences and to assess how to successfully navigate attracting and retaining talent, develop the next generation of leaders, and prepare a succession plan amidst a rapidly changing environment.
