2018 Metro Talks RESILIENCE: #1 Water
AIA Phoenix Metro
Join us for a conversation with local water experts centered on the role architects can play in responding to our changing climate.
In this discussion, we will forgo gloom-and-doom predictions and rosy sales pitches — and instead focus on learning about the root issues and discuss how we might mitigate and adapt to the specific challenges of water in our desert climate.
Sarah Porter, Director, Kyl Center for Water Policy
Rhett Larson, Associate Professor of Law, Arizona State University
Kathryn Sorensen, Director, City of Phoenix Water Department
Brian Farling, AIA, Principal, Jones Studio
About the venue:
Liberty Wildlife is a rescue and rehabilitation center bordering the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area. The nonprofit received the top award at the 2017 Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence Awards for restoring a dirt lot along the Rio Salado into a lush, desert campus that incorporates wetlands, a solar power system, and water conservation features.
