Next2Lead is an AIA Leadership program for AIA members who are emerging, racially and ethnically diverse women in architecture with a minimum of five years in the profession. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusion in membership, the field of architecture, and throughout society. This pilot program will focus on AIA Association Leadership and will be designed to address the lack of racially and ethnically diverse women serving in leadership positions within this professional association.
Next2Lead is a one year leadership preparation program for AIA members who are ethnically diverse women with at least five-plus years of experience in the profession. The first cohort will consist of no more than 16 participants enrolled in the program.
Upon completion of the program, participants commit to a local, state, regional, or national leadership residency through participation on a work group, task-force, or non-board committee.
Participants will be financially responsible for books and resources.
Content will include:
- Blended learning approach including in-person and virtual participation
- Access to national convenings, such as Grassroots Leadership Conference and Women's Leadership Summit
