AIA announces partnership with America ByDesign: Architecture Television Series
WASHINGTON – March 8, 2023 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and America ByDesign are proud to announce their new partnership showcasing the immense value of architecture to a national mainstream audience. The AIA will play a significant role in Season 2 of America ByDesign: Architecture, a six-part series on select CBS stations promoting American architectural innovation, ingenuity, and design excellence later this summer.
Architects highlighted in the show are AIA members, and the partnership will reinforce the importance of architecture and design in all communities from schools to skyscrapers.
“AIA members play an integral role in the design of so many of the places where we live, work, learn and play. They have told me about the importance of elevating and celebrating architecture in the eyes of the general public, and this partnership helps us move in that direction,” said Executive Vice President and CEO Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, who made an appearance in an episode of Season 1. “I am so pleased to be able to partner with America ByDesign. It's a tremendous opportunity to showcase our members' skills and expertise as to how design thinking can create a more equitable and sustainable world for us all.”
ByDesign is home to a global collection of primetime television shows on CBS that explore design, featuring the innovators who bring ideas to life. The collection of series speaks to the beating heart of design, encompassing concept through realization and featuring a range of industry leaders, from architects to industrial designers. ByDesign highlights innovative individuals, whose creative vision shapes the world around us.

Innate to all AIA designs are members' drive for positive change in their respective communities to create space for all to redefine architectural narratives. The America ByDesign: Architecture platform will allow widespread viewers to see this work in action with engaging stories.
The second season, will premiere in mid-August 2023 and will air on CBS, the CBS News Streaming Network, all CBS News mobile apps, and on the ByDesign website.
