The AIA Consensus Construction Forecast Panel is conducted twice a year with some of the leading nonresidential construction forecasters in the United States including Dodge Data & Analytics, HIS Economics, Moody’s Economy.com, FMI, CMD iSqFt, Associated Builders & Contractors, and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC. It projects business conditions in the construction industry over the coming 12 to 18 months, and has been conducted for nearly 20 years.
Healthy advances forecast for nonresidential building market through 2017
Overall building construction spending is expected to grow around 6 percent for 2016, and stay in that range for 2017.
Construction spending projected for moderate growth
For the first year in recent memory, in 2015 the nonresidential construction sector actually exceeded expectations.
