Superior Court of California - San Diego
AIA's Academy of Architecture for Justice (AAJ) has selected fifteen recipients of the Justice Facilities Review awards program. Four of the recipients were awarded a Citation; the other eleven were selected for publication in Justice Facilities Review 2018.
The Justice Facilities Review program offers examples of a broad range of design strategies and depicts the latest trends in the design and construction of justice facilities in the United States, including the implementation of sustainable justice principles. These projects demonstrate quality of form, functionality, and current architectural responses to complex justice design issues.
Campus Kilpatrick
The Campus Kilpatrick replacement facility creates a non-institutional, non-threatening environment within a secure perimeter that reflects the philosophy of the evolving Los Angeles County Model for youth corrections.
East County Hall of Justice

Litchfield Judicial District Courthouse
Requiring the need to consolidate four divisions of its court system into a more efficient operation to handle civil, criminal, family and juvenile court processes on a tight site, the new Litchfield Courthouse integrates the courthouse aesthetically into the existing context of the surrounding neighborhood, reflecting a traditional courthouse with a colonnade and clock/stair tower.
New United States Courthouse - Los Angeles
The courthouse design represents the rational convergence of the project influences: site, program, budget, sustainability, security, and the desire to create a building that appropriately represents the values of the American judicial system.
