Reopening America: Strategies for safer offices
June 9, 2020 - As employers consider reopening offices during the pandemic, AIA is issuing a new report detailing strategies that can reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the workplace.
The report and 3D models were developed by a team of architects, public health experts, engineers and facility managers as part of AIA’s initiative, “Reopening America: Strategies for safer buildings.” Design strategies—developed using emerging research and public health data—can be implemented immediately.
An extensive framework of additional strategies are provided in AIA’s Re-occupancy Assessment Tool. A seven-step Risk Management Plan for Buildings is also available to assist businesses with assessing hazards, applying architectural and engineering strategies, and reducing risk.
