AIA’s commitment to the United Nations COP meetings is profound and ongoing. Our presence in Sharm el-Sheikh for COP27 (November 6-18, 2022) is significant as we work alongside policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, scientists, and others to create actions that are planet-centered for the positive impact of every community around the world.
AIA’s is focused on three messages:
- Communicating External Benefits and Long-Term Value of Design
- Research and Investment
- Building Energy Use Codes and Performance Standards
AIA members submitted these project examples to illustrate these core messages and articulate how architects are influential in creating solutions to this existential crisis.

Before the renovation, the building was dark and crowded, with little communal space, fresh air, or daylight.
