Every year, the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development teams with AIA’s Housing Knowledge Community to celebrate projects that demonstrate affordable, accessible and well-designed housing, proving that good design is not exclusive.
Monteverde Senior Apartments
The design of these apartments connects the City of Orinda’s past to its downtown revitalization, and provides much-needed affordable, age-qualified housing.
Plaza Roberto Maestas, Beloved Community
This project creates a culturally sensitive development to serve as the anchor in Seattle's North Beacon Hill, a neighborhood recently up zoned from a single family to a mixed-use zone.
Flance Early Learning Center
This early childhood center, sited where a failed St. Louis public housing high-rise structure once stood, provides children of mixed incomes with instruction, daycare, and nutrition education.
