The defining moment for Baptist Life Communities was when they realized their new site was a blank canvas where they were not trying to fit into the context of an existing city or community but could indeed create their own special place – a town that captures their cultural essence. The site parti is a hillside town designed to look like a collection of buildings grouped around a central plaza and like most small towns, is anchored by a chapel with a dramatic bell tower.

Jury comments

This new campus design for Baptist Life Communities reflects excellent massing, use of the site, and compact relationships between the community elements. The jury was impressed with the values-based and methodical process that guided the ultimate design of this community. The current trends in household design are evident and are thoughtfully applied.
