Location:  San Diego, California

Awarded a published

The County of San Diego Sheriff’s Crime Laboratory collocates the Regional Crime Laboratory, the Major Crimes Division, and Property & Evidence Unit into a cohesive investigations facility. It shares a campus with the Medical Examiner and other County departments. Consolidation of these  functions enhances safety and efficiency for a community that spans more than 4,000 square miles, including the international border, Federal installations, the Anza Borrego desert, and the Pacific Ocean. The new Sheriff's Crime Lab is a symbol of the County’s ongoing commitment to making San Diego the safest urban county in the nation.

"The built in transparent tour route is an amazing way for the community to gain a better grasp of the complexities of the facility without compromising work." ~ Jury comment
