General Qualifications:

We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can work with our diverse staff of content specialists, designers, programmers, and engineers. Hands-on, self-motivated individuals thrive at Ideum. In particular, we are looking for a designer that is well versed in UI/UX design and has the desire to work on projects that are diverse in scope. The ideal candidate will understand how to approach different design tasks for a diverse set of mediums including projection, large screens, web, and mobile applications. We use Adobe suite at Ideum and prefer a candidate well versed in at least photoshop and illustrator. Interactive designers are expected to be technically savvy with an understanding of file types and preparation, file management, and optimization. The best applicant will be a good listener and sensitive to the needs of their client and their team, with the ability to match their designs to different aesthetics and styles.

Requirements:

Demonstrated UI/UX design experience and ability (portfolio)

Fluency with interactive design principles and processes (interactive examples a plus)

Some project management and/or client interaction experience

Photoshop and Illustrator skills

Desire to help the company with proposals and marketing

Some experience with user testing

Experience with Web, mobile, and kiosk design

Creates and ideates materials for proposals and new business responses

Can quickly design and execute creative deliverables

Presents creative concepts to internal teams and clients

Upholds Ideum’s standards of design through quality assurance of all creative

Can manage multiple project deliverables under tight deadlines

Demonstrated organizational skills.Dependability and commitment to results

Extra Credit:

Experience with museum exhibits and installations

Programming skills

Experience with 3D design programs

A strong interest in science, art, history, and social issues

College degree a plus, not a requirement

Electronics experience

Experience with marketing or advertising

Knowledge of history, art, or sciences
