AIA CE Providers have 10 business days to report AIA member attendance. Please allow them that time to report.
If a provider does not report attendance within 10 business days, please contact the provider and/or the AIA CES team at ces@aia.org.
Do not self-report approved courses completed through registered AIA CE Providers.
Yes. For AIA-approved courses from registered AIA CE Providers, your transcript will reflect the date you completed the learning program, regardless of when attendance was submitted by the provider.
Self-reports will reflect the date of completion included with the self-report, not the date the self-report was submitted or approved.
No. Member self-reports for courses delivered by registered AIA CE Providers will be denied. AIA CE providers have 10 business days to report AIA member attendance. Please allow them that time to report.
If a provider does not report attendance within 10 business days, please contact the provider and/or the AIA CES team at ces@aia.org.
No. Instead, please contact the provider to ensure they have your correct AIA member number and forward a copy of your certificate of completion to ces@aia.org.
Most self-report submittal issues are due to formatting problems with the learning statement. Please ensure that you have completed the required fields, including course title, credit amount, credit type, education description, and learning statement. The learning statement must be between 250 and 2,000 characters in length. Characters include letters, spaces, numbers, and punctuation. Do not format the learning statement as bullet points, an outline, or anything other than complete sentences.
Continuing education—AIA CE Providers
AIA CE staff will review submitted programs in the order in which they are received. Reviews can take up to 10 business days. The days AIA is closed do not count as business days.
You can download your renewal invoice and make payment online by credit card or by U.S. Bank (electronic check) here: provider.aia.org/s/renew.
You can only edit a course when it is in “draft” status. First, change your course status from “requires more information” to “draft.” This will enable the edit function.
Next, provide the information requested by the course reviewer, change the course status back to “submitted/pending approval” so that your course will return to the review queue. Courses can only be reviewed by the AIA CES team once they are in “submitted/pending approval” status.
We do not need a copy of the course presentation to review your learning program. Unless AIA CES staff specifically request that you submit your course presentation materials, course reviews are conducted based on the information submitted in the course information on the CE Provider Dashboard.
Before any course attendance can be reported, you must first create the course session. Ensure that the bulk attendance is submitted using the bulk attendance Excel file template, which can be downloaded from the “bulk attendance” button under the “manage attendance" section on the CE Provider Dashboard. Input the required information on the template and save it as a .csv file. When you're ready to upload the attendance form, choose "bulk attendance" and select "choose file" on the pop-up.
No. Per Standard S14-03 “Stating AIA credit and approval” of the AIA Standards for Continuing Education Programs, you can advertise your course as “Submitted to AIA CES for approval” once you have submitted the course through the CE Provider Dashboard. However, course credit type and amount cannot be advertised until the course has been approved by the AIA CES team.
