AEC Cares thanks its San Diego partners
Prior to AIA26, the architecture, engineering, and construction communities gave back to San Diego through the renovation of a local women’s center.
On June 10, AEC Cares, in partnership with Catholic Charities Diocese, renovated Rachel’s Women’s Center in San Diego. Rachel’s Women’s Center is a drop-in center that provides unhoused women in San Diego with essential services such as showers, laundry, behavioral health support, and trauma-informed case management. The event involved 150 volunteers, including local contractors, designers, and building material suppliers. Their improvements to the center will help it carry out its mission of offering a safe, welcoming, and supportive space.
This meaningful project was made possible by AEC Cares founding member and primary organizer ConstructConnect, a leading provider of software solutions for the construction industry, and a team of pro bono collaborators from Stantec and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. The project also received financial and in-kind donations from supporting industry partners.
The partners that made financial donations included YKK AP America Inc., USG Corporation, Sika USA, Rockwool, Glean, Andersen Windows Inc., the ConstructConnect executive leadership team, Lumina Datamatics, Mapei, Inspiro, 1Point1, Recreation inSites, Encore Technologies, Extrensa, Visual Communications, and Zuora, Inc.
In-kind donations were generously provided by ALL SOURCE Co., Andersen Windows Inc., Christian Brothers Flooring & Interiors, Hunter Douglas, Nevell Group Inc., RAB Lighting, Shaw Contract, Magnum Drywall, Pittsburgh Paints Co., Lunstrum Windows & Doors, Rowan Electric, USG Corporation, VELUX, Wilsonart, and Wolf-Gordon.
ConstructConnect would like to sincerely thank all the organizations and individuals who supported this important effort.
