Building Space & Intention: A Clay Handbuilding Workshop
Create a sculptural architectural form in a hands-on clay workshop that blends design principles, community storytelling, and Afrofuturistic imagination to explore how space, intention, and belonging shape the built environment.

About the workshop
Join ceramic artist Angelique Scott at the AIA Global Campus for Architecture & Design® for an immersive clay handbuilding workshop exploring architecture, intention, and spatial storytelling. Through beginner-friendly techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, participants will design and create a small architectural structure inspired by community needs and Afrofuturistic imagination.
Blending foundational design principles such as form, balance, proportion, and texture with conversation and making, this hands-on experience invites architects, creatives, students, and curious makers to reflect on how space shapes belonging and possibility.
