Join the American Institute of Architects and Carl Elefante for a book talk and signing of his latest work, "Going for Zero."
“The greenest building...is the one already built.” - Carl Elefante
In Going for Zero, Elefante calls for an urgent transformation of the built environment to address the climate crisis—arguing that the greenest building is the one that already exists and that decarbonization must be central to architecture’s future. Through the lenses of climate responsibility, equity, and urban resilience, he challenges architects and designers to rethink growth, preservation, and the path toward zero-carbon cities.
Elefante will be joined in conversation by Rick Schneider, FAIA, and Mary Kay Lanzillotta, FAIA, a parter at Hartman-Cox.
The program will conclude with an audience Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.
Following the discussion, guests are invited to enjoy a light wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. Copies of Going for Zero will be available for purchase in the AIA Design Shop, where Elefante will sign books. Attendees are also encouraged to explore the new AIA Global Campus of Architecture and Design and experience firsthand the spaces that embody AIA’s commitment to the future of architecture and design.
We look forward to welcoming you for an inspiring evening at the intersection of ideas, design, and action.
Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Donations are welcome at sign-up.
