AIA will publish the 2030 Commitment By the Numbers (Reporting Year 2024) annual report on September 24.
The 2030 Commitment is a global architecture and building industry initiative, aimed at achieving a carbon-neutral future. More than 460 signatory firms have reported nearly 42,000 projects culminating in approximately 43 billion gross square feet. 2024’s reported overall predicted energy usage intensity reduction is 56%, the largest reduction in the history of the Commitment. Projects reporting embodied carbon nearly tripled year over year. Net zero projects have jumped to 430, an increase of 24% since 2024. In addition to the publication of the 2024 Commitment data in this report, AIA is renewing its partnership with Architecture 2030 in anticipation of refreshing the Commitment as we approach the year 2030.
The report will be launched at a public session at New York Climate Week on Thursday, September 25, at the AIA New York Center for Architecture. Secure your complimentary registration to attend: Mass Timber Tipping Point + AIA 2030 Commitment Tickets, Thu, Sep 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM | Eventbrite
