Alyanna Subayno, Assoc. AIA, strives to advance equity in architecture by strengthening workplace culture, shaping national initiatives, and expanding pathways for emerging professionals.

Alyanna Subayno, Assoc. AIA, is an emerging professional whose work bridges practice, policy, and mentorship to advance a more equitable profession. At Neumann Monson Architects, she has led initiatives that improve transparency, support licensure, and strengthen workplace culture—resulting in measurable gains in retention, engagement, and career development.
Her leadership extends nationally through AIA, where she serves as Associate Director on the Board of Directors and contributes to the Strategic Council, National Associates Committee, and other national initiatives. In these roles, she helps shape policies and resources that support emerging professionals and advance equity in practice.
Subayno’s commitment to mentorship and access is reflected in her work with students and early-career professionals, including efforts to expand representation and support within architectural education and practice. She has also contributed to updates to the AIA Code of Ethics and AIA Guides for Equitable Practice, reinforcing alignment between the profession’s values and its impact.
Through her work across practice and leadership, Subayno is helping build systems that support a more inclusive, transparent, and sustainable future for architecture.
